We have been thinking about how we should design the band and its members to suit the song choice and its genre effectively and in a way that will benefit the video and help it look realistic and professional. For some quite numerous and major reasons; such as Our song choice, the genre of the songs original band, their appearance and looks and the basis on which we built out band and what their appearances and looks are, I have decided that it would be suitable for the band to where slightly darker clothing items, something which doesn't given off a depressing feel but something, at the same time, which isn't to joyous.
This idea takes large amounts of influence from Muse and also other bands that we contemplated doing, such as The Strokes. Both of which wear predominantly darker clothes and have a more turned down, darker and minor key feel to what they would wear.
For obvious reasons, let alone the fact that he is the most forward, the lead singer and front man would need to be wearing an outfit that perhaps stands out more, than perhaps the drummer. This is especially important if our video is going to feature shots of the lead singer performing. I feel he will be needing to wear something eye catching and obvious; but having it still in fitting with the bands genre. Inspiration for this could come from bands such as the Killers, as Brandon Flowers often wears obvious and forward clothes.
As is conventional in a music video; I feel that more time should be spent
on the lead singer and the lead guitarist because they are the ones most likely to be known, and recognised by the audience and would thus attract more people to watch the video.

good work so far. i like the level of detail that you have paid to your research. now you've chosen the song you need to storyboard and decide on location. well done.
ReplyDeleteyou should put a bit more effort into this aspect of your video. the styling of the band and the mise en scene are incredibly important. we need to see in your posts how you cameup with your ideas. a bit more thought and depth will pay dividends.
